CAT 2014 Notification & Changes from CAT 2013

The much awaited CAT 2014 notification is out and there are surprises galore -  from the exam pattern to the exam dates & slots. After CMAT & NMAT, IIFT has now come out with its notification for the 2014 exam. The paper and pencil based test will be conducted during the end of November which is the usual time when the IIFT exam has always been scheduled.

CMAT & NMAT Notifications Out

The notifications for the first MBA exam of the season, CMAT was released by the AICTE. The Computer Based CMAT test  will be held in September between 25th & 29th. The CMAT is held twice each season, in September and February, with the best of the two scores being considered for a candidate who attempts both. Close on the heels of the CMAT notification, the dates of NMAT were also announced.

Understanding CAT: Exam Pattern & Syllabus

For those who are still in the information gathering phase, CAT is an All-India entrance test conducted by the IIMs for admissions into the IIMs and a few other prestigious colleges. It is generally conducted in the months of Oct/Nov every year. Candidates are selected based on their percentile scores to move onto the next stage of selections which is usually Group Discussion, Essay Writing and Personal Interview. Until 2009, CAT was a paper based test but in 2009 it moved to a Computer Based Test(CBT) format.
